Identification of Phase Separation for Dispersion Samples
The key attribute for consistent chemical/physical stability and dissolution/solubility of amorphous dispersions with polymers is the absence of phase separation on a molecular level. Recent advances in 2D HETCOR ssNMR allow for unambiguous determination of phase separation. Since mixing in these experiments is through the dipole coupling, cross peak correlations visibly display mixing of API and polymers at a molecular level. This technique can be used to screen your dispersions, identify risks, and guide your selection of the optimal dispersion for development.
